Based on the belief that creative artistry is fueled by intellectual insight, Floretta P. Carson Visual and Performing Arts Academy provides a college-preparatory academic program that produces high-achieving, motivated scholars. This program is aligned with the Alabama State Advanced Standards. 

A+ College Ready Curriculum

Floretta P. Carson Visual and Performing Arts Academy is proud to offer an A+ College Ready curriculum. The A+ College Ready curriculum is designed to develop a diverse pipeline of students prepared for success in college, careers, and life.

​Through high-quality, content-specific rigorous courses, the A+ curriculum is fully aligned with the Alabama Course of Study and College Board Advanced Placement (AP) requirements, providing our scholars with a strong foundation in academic excellence.

​The program offers 58 courses across math, science, English, social studies, computer science, art, and Spanish, including 35 non-AP and 23 AP courses, providing students with opportunities to challenge themselves and excel in higher education and beyond.
